A-grade put together a strong offense with 7 of the starting line-up getting hits to defeat Lara 12-3. Bears took an early lead in the second scoring 2 from 3 hits. Lara hit back at the top pf the 3rd to tie things up, but 5 runs in the third with tight defense made the difference. Josh Crotty giving up just 4 hits over 5 inning. Standouts with the bat were Geoff Rome and Pat Brackley with 2 hits and 3 RBI’s each.
A-reserve posted their 2nd win of the season in a very tight tussle with Lara 2-1. Matt Sage threw a complete game giving up only 3 hits. Sam Lazarus and Cooper Tipping combined to turn a double play and Jack Auld took a great catch in outfield to stop runners scoring. Trace Bourke with 2 hits and 1 each to Tayla Weldon and Jack Auld. With scores tied 1-1 Jye Robinson hit a sacrifice fly to get Bears the win.
B-reserve had a great day with the bat scoring a 13-8 win against Saints Red. 8 Bears getting multiple hits. Hitting and 10 stolen bases made for a great offense although a few errors saw Saints score 4 late runs.
C-grade Blue went down 11-6 to Saints. The lady Bears played great offense and were leading 4-2 after 2 inning. A 3 run bomb to Saints in the 3rd changed the momentum. Nearly all the team had 1 or more hits with some great outfield catches to Steph Stott (2) and Samantha Gillard.
C-grade Red went down to Lara with the Bears errors contributing 5 runs on a 10-4 score line. Just 4 hits for the Bears was not enough even though Isaac and Brad O’Brien gave up just 6 hits from the mound for Bears.
